Children and social media, parental responsibility (other people’s property)

Children and social media, parental responsibility (other people’s property)

Everyday a different challenge a different progress update.  On a google hangout with the other half (ooerr!!) of LifeSkills4Kids(Uk) Harbinder Mathadu tonight and was discussing how, as 2 people working on a project where you want to to engage with others, you really need to stay in the public eye, even with the smallest of relevant updates. So we have set ourselves a goal of doing a brain dump of the days thoughts and you’re reading mine right now. The other part of tonights chat was still...

LifeSkills4Kids project update

LifeSkills4Kids project update

Hit a bit of a dip in the LifeSkills4Kids project, time has been swamped with our day jobs and energy levels are low. Family time is also quite important and has been a big factor when trying to make some progress with this project. We are very passionate about this project and making it work, part of which is selling the idea to prospective clients.  These include schools, parents, tuition houses, affiliations with other organisations who work with kids promoting learning outside of the school...

January is nearly over, what about your goals?

January is nearly over, what about your goals?

January 2013 is nearly over and the days have already started to get warmer and longer. For me, so much seems to have happened with regards to things I have been involved in, that it feels like months have already passed by. So it’s comforting to know that we haven’t even finished the first month yet. Phew (wipes brow)!! As I write this I’m wondering what’s happened to the goals, new years resolutions that many of us set at the start of the year. All those things we “semi”...

Goal setting, haven’t done it yet? don’t fret…

If you haven’t thought about your goals for 2013 yet, don’t fret it’s not too late, you still have at least 11 months before Christmas 2013. Time is flying by at an astronomical rate, how will you make the best use of it? It’s already the 4th of Jan!!!! How wisely have you used the first 4 days of 2013?? New Year is the time when the masses usually to take time out to think about their goals, so you could use this time as an excuse to do it, or…..why not do something...

Thoughts about Patience over Christmas and New Year

Thoughts about Patience over Christmas and New Year

It’s been a tough, challenging and a fantastic Christmas holiday period all at the same time. It’s usually the longest break that I have to endure, where it seems like “we” (the people that are usually out working) are forced to stay away from work “out there”, forced to take a break and forced to put our feet up with the rest of the Christmas and New Year celebrating nations. This was the tough bit, learning to switch off and not think about work. For me, work...

The frustrations of people wanting to leave the rat-race

The frustrations of people wanting to leave the rat-race

The frustrations of people wanting to leave the rat-race.  You want to leave your job, but you have bills to pay, a mortgage or two, loans and other expenses that you have racked up in the pursuit of trying to live some sort of “good life”, that you think you deserve, you have paid for things you can’t afford, like holidays, a nice car and a lifestyle that has grown over the years, or should I say outgrown your pay packet. But you are unfulfilled, you want something more, you’re...

#Link4Drinks in Holborn on Tuesday 13th November 2012

It’s almost that time again, when a bunch of people with similar interests get together in a relaxed informal environment to network with each other.   It’s a place - where small business owners get together to make new connections and nurture the old connections where employees of organizations find out about other options are open to them, when they just turn up and speak to others where individuals get a chance to speak about “what they do” and “what they...

I just created more certainty, I have a clear(er) idea about what I do!!!

I just created more certainty, I have a clear(er) idea about what I do!!!

After a lot of frustration, confusion, headache and heartache, I now feel I know what it is that I do!!! And guess what, it’s not to do with selling anything to anyone. I know however, if I make the right noises about it, it will be a very worthwhile move indeed. I’ve been following a particular young entrepreneur I know of called Suraj Sodha, you may have heard of him, especially if you’re into Internet marketing. Suraj has built, not only a business from scratch, but built himself...

I need your help with some research

I need your help with some research

Hi all, I hope you are all well.  I’m conducting some research for a product I’m creating and I need your help. The product is aimed at “helping working parents, who want to escape the rat-race and create more free time for the things they enjoy”. I have already advertised on Facebook and elsewhere, but I need more results before I can get a real understanding of what “other” useful information this product should contain. There is a short questionnaire to fill...

Managing personal change as if it were a business

Managing personal change as if it were a business

If you’ve ever worked as an employee, in a management team or close to one, you will have heard at some point people talking about about, cutting costs, return on investment,  total cost of ownership, benefits to the business outweighing the initial outlay, it’s either in/or not available within the budget etc.  This fascinates me, I see this on a daily basis.  Management teams “playing” with budgets, committing money to projects, sometimes horrendous amounts (to you and I) but when you...
